#SECTUR.- When protesting the new Board of Directors of the Women’s Tourist Coexistence (Confetur), which will be chaired by Martha Teresa Hernández, the head of the Ministry of Tourism (Sectur) highlighted the role of women entrepreneurs who are an example of empowerment, work and productivity in the tourism labor market, one of the markets that offers the most employment opportunities for women, with a participation of 49% of all employed personnel.

«With the change of Board of Directors that concerns us today, the fruitful work of Brisa Amaya and her team concludes, and a new stage of Confetur begins, which will now be headed by Martha Teresa Hernández, who will resume the tasks undertaken and give a new boost to the organization for the benefit of tourism in Mexico. My congratulations to both of you,” she stated.

Torruco Marqués pointed out that as a result of the health crisis we are living in difficult times, which we have known how to face with great integrity and optimism. “I am convinced that we will continue to do so, because our industry is founded on very solid foundations, such as an incomparable natural and cultural heritage, and a business sector that, despite the adverse circumstances, is not intimidated or lowers its guard, but rather look ahead and bet on Mexico”, he stated.

He reiterated the correct policy of the president, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, during the pandemic by not restricting international flights, implementing biosanitary protocols in the tourism sector and the vaccination strategy.
